(December 30, 2017) — Stephenville is in the third-place game and Dublin the consolation semifinals in the TexasBank Holiday Classic in Brownwood Saturday.

The Lions bounced back from their disappointing 79-77 loss to Midland Greenwood by edging De Leon 81-77. Next up is District 6-3A rival Brady at 9:50 a.m. at Brownwood High School.

The consolation final between the winner of that game and the winner of Goldthwaite-Coleman is set for 1:50 p.m. at The Coliseum.

Stephenville los 55-42 to Lamapasas in the semifinals of the champonship bracket Friday night. The Jackets played at 8:30 a.m. and beat Colorado City 61-53, then remained in Brownwood until 8:30 p.m. for the night cap. Their first-round game was a 60-45 victory against Early.

Stephenville and Brownwood meet in the third-place game at 4:30 p.m. at The Coliseum. They reached the consolation round by beating Early 60-45 and Colorado City 61-53.

De Leon will compete at the high school Saturday. The Bearcats meet Early at 12:30 p.m. with a win setitng up their game at 4:30 p.m. but a loss means a shorter breaek and a tip off at 3:10 p.m.

The 16-team team tournament began on Thursday. It includes all six members of 6-3A including Dublin. They comprised all but two spots in the consolation braket after each lost in the opening round.

The championship is between Denver City and Lampasas and tips off at 7:10 p.m. at The Coliseum.
