Ann (Adcock) Lane was born on September 19, 1928, in Proctor, Texas, to Rance and Leah (Jackson) Adcock. She grew up in Gustine and later graduated from Comanche High School. She was a member of the Gustine Church of Christ.

On December 20, 1946, she married the love of her life, Bill Lane. They made their home on the banks of the South Leon River and never moved away in the seventy-one years of their marriage. Their first years of marriage were filled with the struggles of making a living and enjoying every minute of life together.

In 1953, they started in the dairy business and worked side by side in the dairy barn, fields, and wherever the work took them. Ann was instrumental in forming the first 4-H club in Comanche County in the Newburg Community. She spent over fifty years serving as a leader of the youth of this county on the local, county, state and national level. She also served tirelessly in the Newburg Community Association.

Ann also helped form the first young Homemakers of America organization in Comanche County and served as the Young Homemakers of Texas President in 1963. The Ann Lane Scholarship was founded during this time in her honor by the Texas Electric Cooperative.

She was known as “MiMi” to her grandkids, great-grands, and all of their friends. She was always available to take a station-wagon full of kids to a school activity or on a field trip. She was an outstanding homemaker and renown cook!

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, R.J. and Marion Adcock, and a grandson-in-law, Craig Artze. She is survived by her husband, Bill Lane and son Buddy Lane of Gustine; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Tommy McGinnis of Comanche; grandchildren: Andi Artze and sons, Lane and Hank of Magnolia; Staci and Robert Murphy and sons, Ryan and Morgan of Gustine; Cody and Chrissy Lane and children, Faith, Ace, and Laney of Hamilton; and Randi McGinnis and daughter Hope of Comanche; two nieces and two nephews.
