So share a memory below because a comforting word from you means a lot.Robert Earl Barnett, born August 30, 1938 in Hico, Texas to parents Roy and Laura (Kilpatrick) Barnett, passed away in Quitman, Texas on January 16, 2018 at age 79. Robert also known as “Daddy”, “Robert”, or “Grandpa Robert” had a great love for music. Robert was self-taught and learned to play country, classical, and bluegrass music on the piano, guitar, banjo, and mandolin all by ear. Robert loved to fly his single-engine Cessna airplane as a young man. Robert was a co-driver in his younger years. During the summer time he would go with his father on cross-country 18-wheeler trucking assignments. He really enjoyed that quality time with his dad. Robert loved to study God’s word and enjoyed reading books. Robert graduated Hico High School in 1956 and graduated from Southwestern Union College in Keene, Texas with a degree in Theology in 1973. Robert was also an electronic technician and a Sonar operator in the United States Navy aboard the USS Kingbird. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Joseph Nathaniel Barnett and son in-law Bradley Dale Ballew. Surviving Robert are his children’s mother, Nancy Kelly of Joshua, Texas, brother Carl Wayne Barnett and wife Delores of Burleson, Texas, daughter Nicole Seise and husband Hector of Forney, Texas, son Robert “Bob” Barnett and wife Linda of Red Oak, Texas, son Stephen Barnett and wife Kathy of Fort Worth, Texas. Robert is also survived by grandchildren, Stephenie Sager, Sean Seise, Amanda Ballew, Shannon Smith, Allison Barnett, Conner Barnett, great-grandchildren Gabriel Aldredge, Seth Seise, Brooklynn Seise, Lucas Sager, Sunny Smith, Collin Galindo and Carew Smith, numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Service Information

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, at the Harvest Hills Funeral Home in Hico. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. in the Harvest Hills Funeral Chapel in Hico with burial to follow in the Hico Cemetery.
