GORMAN (January 21, 2018) – On Saturday, February 24 there will be a benefit held for Leslie and Lana Sharp in the Old Gym at Gorman High School. The event will be a barbeque and fish fry with live and silent auctions. The silent auction viewing will start at 4 p.m., and the food will start being served at 5 until it runs out.

Leslie and Lana are well known and loved residents of Eastland County. Leslie has been battling cancer for several months, while his wife, Lana, was recently diagnosed with an acute form of leukemia. She is currently undergoing patient treatment and will be for the several months. A few of the Sharp’s close friends decided to organize this benefit in order to help the family financially.

There is a Facebook event called “Leslie and Lana Sharp Benefit” that is open and public for anyone who would like to join. There are many online silent auction items that are being bid on. Items range anywhere from a two-person guided hog hunt to a gift certificate for an acupuncture or sauna session at Premier Balance Acupuncture & Wellness in Cisco. Individuals and businesses can go online to post bids on the silent auction. Direct donations can be made out to “Sharp Benefit” at Prosperity Bank in Gorman.

For more information about the benefit or to donate items for the silent auction, contact Tracey Spivey at (254) 734-5314 or Samantha Stogsdill at (830)-214-4872.
