(Janury 27, 2018) — What a difference a year makes.

Just last season Coleman was the runner-up in District 6-3A boys basketball.

While ‘some  things never change,’ to steal another old phrase, some things do. Dublin is still on top of the 6-3A world, for instance, but Coleman has taken a plunge.

The Lions dominated their former top challenger on the road Friday by a resounding 85-36.

So much for slowing Rayce Jackson. Coleman couldn’t stop any Lion player, as six of them scored at least nine points. Jackson did lead the way with 17, and right on his heels was Blake Porter with 16 and Josh Hanes 15. Jakob Seales scored 10, Tim Teten nine and Angel Ramirez nine.

Dublin raced out to a 27-11 lead after a quarter and stresstched it to 42-19 by intermission.

Such routes have caused Lion head coach Will Parker concern because his starters are not being forced to play four quarters of competitive basketball to prepare for the playoffs. He realizes that getting through the first round very likely means an area-round battle against Peaster again, or perhaps against Brock.

Next week presents Dublin with Bangs on Tuesday in Neff Gym and Early Friday on the road. Neither are likely to push the Lions the distance.

Rounding out Dublin’s scoring Friday were Tyshon Hopkins with five points and Cy Wing with four.
