John Russell Moore, 80, has gone to be with the LORD on January 29, 2018. He was born in Brown County, Texas to his parents Henry Battle Moore and Margaret Pearl (Turney).

John married Aileen Elizabeth (Broyles) on July 7, 1962 in Abilene, Texas. Together they had one child. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean era. He graduated Abilene Christian College with a degree in Economics. John also worked as a banker, farmer, and also, for a short time, Gulf Oil in New Orleans.

John was a devout Baptist, a Master Mason, a member in the Lion’s Club, and an active member of the Gustine community with different organizations.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Carla, on August 7, 2012.

John will be remembered by his wife – Aileen Moore of Gustine, Texas; his grandsons – Jerry Mc Gee Payne and Clint Russell Payne of Gustine, Texas; his granddaughter – Kassie Elizabeth Payne of Denver, Colorado; his two great-grandchildren – Henry and Connor; his sister – Jan Pack of Stephenville, Texas; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Memorials in honor of John can be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
