(February 2, 2018) — Stephenville was slow out the gate but went on to crush Alvarado’s short-lived hopes of an upset Friday.

Trailing 12-8 after a quarter against a District 6-3A opponent they had beaten previously 81-17, the Honeybees came to life second period. Jordan Carter scored all or her  7 points in the 29-points second quarter, which featured four points each by Hailey Martin, Payton Wall and Hannah Bernays.

Wall and Martin went on to scored nine and eight more, respctively, after the break. Wall finished 13, Martin 12 and Bernays 10. Three others – Jayci Morton, Madison Carter and Alee McClendon – added nine each.

Tesslie Barker made it eight players with at least seven points for Stephenville and Madison Gilder added two.

Stephenville tries to lock up third place when Godley visits Gandy Gym on senior and family  night for the Bees.
