Patricia Ridgway McElyea, 78, of San Antonio, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2018 in San Antonio.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 pm Friday, February 16, 2018 at the West End Cemetery in Stephenville with Doug McLemore officiating. Services are under the care of Stephenville Funeral Home.
Patricia was born on January 4, 1940 in San Antonio to the late Charles Zimmer Ridgway and Kenneth Carpenter Ridgway. She was a graduate of University of Texas with a BA in English where she taught in Austin. Pat was a proud, dedicated wife and mother, where making a home with great love and care was her priority. She went on to enjoy a successful real estate career as a broker/owner in Dallas and a broker/associate in San Antonio. Patricia married William R. “Bill” McElyea on May 17, 1986 in Dallas where they resided for many years before moving to San Antonio 17 years ago. She had such class and style with a simple sophistication. Pat always put her family first with so much pride in her husband, children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Central Christian Church.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Bill McElyea of San Antonio; daughter, Allison Young and husband Mark of Colorado; son, Erik Mays and wife Deborah of Dallas; grandchildren, Preston Young, Spencer Young, Zackery Mays, Reagan Mays, Brooklyn Mays, Bennett Mays, and Teddy Mays; step-children, Kathleen Huckabee and husband Bill of Stephenville, and Jim McElyea and wife Suzanne of Dallas; step-grandchildren, Alex Huckabee, and Dani Huckabee; brother, Col. (Ret) Charles Z. Ridgway, Jr. and wife Lynn of Fairfield, CA; and her lifelong best friend, Maxine Farrimond of San Antonio.
