Beginning fall 2018, Tarleton will offer bachelor’s degrees in criminal justice and public administration at the RELLIS Campus. Both degree programs complement Blinn College programs, and will prepare students for high-demand fields.
The bachelor’s in criminal justice merges academic knowledge with applied experience, offering courses that provide for career entry or promotion in a variety of criminal justice areas, including federal employment, and graduate study.
The bachelor’s in public administration equips students with knowledge and skills that cover topics and disciplines related to the public sector. Students will acquire knowledge about intergovernmental relations, human resource management, public policy, budgeting and finance, and other matters critical to successful careers in all levels of government.
Prospective students are invited to learn more about Tarleton’s undergraduate degree programs in criminal justice and public administration from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 20 and March 1 in the Blinn-Bryan Student Center Lobby.
At the Feb. 20 information session, students can meet with Drs. Shannon Hankhouse, director of Tarleton-Waco and associate professor of criminal justice; Kelly Lemmons, assistant dean of Tarleton’s College of Liberal and Fine Arts; and Rusty Freed, associate vice president of outreach and off-campus programs.
In addition to Freed, Tarleton representatives at the March 1 session will be Drs. Javier Garza, vice president of enrollment management; Rhonda Dobbs; head of Tarleton’s Department of Criminal Justice; GM Cox, program coordinator for public administration; and Kathy Brown, assistant professor of criminal justice.
The groundbreaking for the RELLIS Academic Alliance Building, home to programs offered by A&M System universities, takes place at 10 a.m. on March 1. The facility will be located across the street from Blinn College’s new academic building and is scheduled to open in August.

Founded in 2016, the RELLIS Campus is an initiative of The Texas A&M University System. Located in Bryan, Texas, the RELLIS Campus serves as an ecosystem that fosters cutting-edge research, technology development, higher education and workforce training.
