FUNERAL SERVICES:  10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 10, 2018, at Comanche Funeral Home Chapel

BURIAL:  Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Comanche County.

VISITATION:  Family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M.; Friday, March 9, 2018 at the Comanche Funeral Home.

LUNCH:  Lunch for the family will be at First Baptist Church of Comanche following the funeral services.

MEMORIALS:  If desired, memorials may be made to Hope Masonic Lodge #481; or Law Enforcement Association.

Donnie Dee McDougal (PaPa), age 83, passed away at his residence in De Leon, Texas, on Wednesday, March 7, 2018, after a brief battle with lung cancer.

He was born on December 31, 1934 in McCamey, Texas to Ernest and Jewell (Dempsey) McDougal. He was a graduate of Comanche High School. On August 10, 1975, he was united in marriage to Charlotte Preston Gilder in DeLeon, Texas. For many years Donnie and his brothers operated McDougal Livestock Austin in Comanche, which was established in 1946 by his father, Earnest McDougal.  He was also a hardworking rancher.  He was an active member of Hope Masonic Lodge #481 of Comanche, where he received the Golden Trowel and, in 2016, his 50 year pin. Donnie was also a member of First Baptist Church of Comanche.

He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and loved spending time with family, including vacationing and watching grandchildren and great grandchildren play and participate in all athletic events. He also had a love for rodeos, and tending his garden.

Donnie is survived by his wife, Charlotte McDougal of DeLeon; daughters, Donna Sue McDougal of Kaufman, Dana Ann Pellegrine of Irving, and Anne Stegemoller of Priddy; sons, David Gilder and wife Debbie of DeLeon, and Robert Gilder of DeLeon; sister-in-law, Maureen McDougal of Comanche; grandchildren D’Anne Whiteley of Stephenville, Cody Stegemoller and wife Jhenisa of Priddy, Derek Gilder and wife Dayla of DeLeon, Cory Stegemoller and wife Jenny of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, Jeremy Gilliam of Royse City, Darren Stegemoller and wife Karen of Goldthwaite, Alesha Borsellino and husband Seth of Waco, Brittnee Gilliam of Dallas; 15 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Jewell McDougal; one son, Rodney Terrill McDougal; brothers, E.J. McDougal and Lonnie McDougal; and sister-in-law, Merla McDougal.
