Ethan Price wasn’t just the strongest man lifting in the 275-pound class of his Texas High School Powerlifting Association regional meet Saturday.

Price is the strongest to ever lift the Region II-Division III setting the new mark for highest total at 1,755 points and the new bench-press mark at a jaw dropping – but bar raising – 475.

Price earned the outstanding bench press award for the highest total in that lift. Texas high school lifters also compete in the dead lift and squat. Each lifter gets three attempts in each event, with their heaviest successful lift counting toward their total.

Overall the Lions earned fifth place in the regional team standings. Bryce Leatherwood placed third, Cesar Galvan fourth and Jared Ricks.
