The Stephenville Yellow Jackets dominated for a first-place finish and the Honeybees were a solid second in Monday’s golf action held at Glen Rose’s Squaw Valley course.

Grayson Traweek’s score of 79 nabbed third place honors at Squaw Creek Monday.

The Yellow Jackets run to the championship was paced by two of its own players in a heated battle for individual medalist honors. Kendall Roberts’ finally came out on top of the entire field with a two-stroke victory and a score of 76. Teammate Grayson Traweek gave Roberts a run for his money with a 79 which was third place overall in the tournament.

Stephenville’s overall team score of 321 was well in front of second place and the only real contest was who would be third as Waco Midway’s second place 353 just edged Palmer’s 356 mark.

Adding to Stephenville’s totals were Rosser Orr and Hunter Rudloff (83) and Justin Cockrell with a score card of 87.

Allee Mainord was the Honeybees top golfer in Glen Rose carding an 86 that was fourth place overall.

It was Blanket that ended up winning the girl’s division with a solid 356 strokes to Stephenville’s second place mark of 369.

While golf scores do add up to be team scores it is always the struggle of nerves on the greens be individual golfers that tell the true tale. Allee Mainord proved she could pass the test with a round of 76 and a fourth place overall finish.

Honeybee Alexis Graham was right on Mainord’s heels with a score of 89, Maycee Decker notched a 96 and Maddi Grimes logged in with a 98 mark. Tatum Dobson (101), Kylie Roberts and Taylor Harpole (104) and Maddie Day (116).
