STEPHENVILLE – (April 3, 2017) For the second straight week, third time in four weeks, and fourth time this season, Jordan Withrow has been named the top pitcher in the Lone Star Conference after her efforts against No. 4 Angelo State last weekend.

Withrow had another phenomenal week in the pitching circle, this time leading Tarleton to a road upset of the No. 4 team in the country and the first-ever series win over Angelo State in San Angelo in program history.

She started and completed both games that Tarleton won over ASU last weekend, throwing 14.0 innings and holding the Rambelles to a .174 batting average. She boasted an ERA of 1.50 while allowing just three earned runs in those two starts. She also continued to add to her LSC-leading strikeout totals with 11 more for the weekend.

This marks the fifth time in 10 weeks a TexAnn pitcher has won the weekly pitching honor – four by Withrow and one by Megan Rosewell – and fourth consecutive week.

Withrow and the TexAnns will be at home tomorrow afternoon for a 2 p.m. doubleheader against Texas A&M International. Tarleton will return to Lone Star Conference action this weekend to host Texas Woman’s.
