Funeral services for Sonny Rose, 91, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at Lacy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ryan Schwanke and Rev. Josh Maddin officiating. Burial will follow at West End Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at Lacy Funeral Home.
Sonny was born in Mexia, Texas on January 14, 1927 to James H. and Ethel (Jones) Rose. He married Alva Jo Porch on March 18, 1950, in Big Spring, Texas. Sonny was a Borden’s milkman and Mac Tool distributor, and in his retirement, he was an owner of three Rent to Buy stores. Sonny was a member of First Baptist Church in Stephenville, and he was a WW II Army Veteran.
Survivors include Wife Jo Rose; children, Steve Rose and wife, Sara of Frisco, Texas; Jimmy Rose and wife, Nelda of Odessa, Texas; and Kayla Lowery of Dublin, Texas; He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
