STEPHENVILLE (April 17, 2018) — Tarleton State University Ambassadors President Morgan Heine presented a gift of $11,000 to the organization’s Core Values Scholarship today as part of the school’s annual Giving Day.

The Ambassadors, along with the Diplomats — their Tarleton-Waco counterparts — hosted the presentation at an 11:30 a.m. event at the Welcome Center on the Stephenville campus.

The donation represents profits from the annual sale of Homecoming T-shirts, which has enabled annual contributions to the scholarship established in 2015.

With today’s donation, the Ambassadors surpassed the $10,000 scholarship endowment minimum. They now have their sights set on earning a spot in the prestigious John Tarleton Society by reaching the $25,000 fund-raising mark.

“It is important to understand that an endowment is a particularly powerful act of service,” said Dr. Tod Allen Farmer, Tarleton’s chief of staff for the President’s Office. “It is a gift that keeps on giving for years to come. We truly appreciate the work our Ambassadors and Diplomats do to make this scholarship available to Tarleton Texans.”

Ambassadors also presented individual gifts in purple piggy banks.
