STEPHENVILLE (April 18, 2018) – The Stephenville Police Department is investigating a situation after a student came home from school to find an unknown person in their home on Monday. This incident occurred on the 2600 block of Frey Street at about 3:50 p.m. and is being investigated as a criminal trespass of a habitation.

“We had officers there in about four minutes,” Sergeant Sha King said. “It was not a robbery.”

King said that the suspect was reported to be wearing a black hoodie and jeans. He can neither confirm nor deny whether the suspect was armed.

“No other incident has been reported in that area at all,” King said.

King recommends always making sure that the home is locked before leaving. Check windows and doors.

“If a child comes home and the door is open or something is unusual, they should take note and let us know as soon as possible,” King said.

If anyone has any information regarding this incident or saw any suspicious activity in the area, call the police department or Stephenville Crimestoppers at 965-CASH.
