DURANGO, Colo. – No. 13 Tarleton Women’s Golf is in fourth place after the opening round of the NCAA Division II West Regional at the Hillcrest Golf Club.
The TexAnns shot a 313 (+25) on the 6,348-yard Par 72 course on Monday. Dallas Baptist leads the field with a score of 293 (+5), followed by California Baptist (305), and West Texas A&M (307). As a team, Tarleton had 43 pars and seven birdies in the round.
Casey Wild led the TexAnns on the individual leaderboard, carding a 74 (+2) to tie for sixth place on the day. Wild was 1-under par on the front nine and finished the round with three birdies and 10 pars.
Junie Khaw is tied for ninth with a score of 75 (+3). Khaw birdied two of the first four holes and finished 1-over on the front nine. Overall, Khaw had three birdies and nine pars.
Sarah Gee carded an 81 (+9), while Casey Leatherman had an 83 (+11) and Breanna Smith added an 85 (+13).
The TexAnns will tee off in the second of three rounds on Tuesday, May 8 at 9:30 a.m
