STEPHENVILLE (May 15, 2018)– Registration is now open for the Stephenville High School Art, Theatre and Animation Camp. The camp will be June 4 – 7 at Stephenville High School. This year’s show is Hurray for Hollywood.
This camp is made up of two sessions. The morning session will be from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. On Thursday will be an animation and art showoff and musical performance at 5:15 p.m.
“We offer art and theatre together as one session,” SHS theatre teacher Mindy Pope said in an email. “Students will work on their song, dance, and acting performance as well as creating costume, prop, and set pieces.”
The students will also create art pieces, including kinetic sculpture, during a daily art session.
In the animation session, campers will create their own stop-motion videos and learn storytelling and photography skills.
“We are really excited to combine our creative writing and photography camps into one Animation Camp,” Pope said.
Registration is open and online at Arts in the Ville. The art and theatre camp is available for pre-kindergarten students through sixth grade. Animation camp is for second through twelfth graders.
Registration will be open through the first day of camp but will close once all available spots are filled.
