FUNERAL SERVICES:  1:00 P.M. Sunday, June 3, 2018, at First Baptist Church of Comanche.

BURIAL:  Oakwood Cemetery

VISITATION:  Family will receive friends at Comanche Funeral Home from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 2, 2018.

Vinson Clay Pierce, age 35, peacefully went to meet his Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 27, 2018 in Comanche, Texas.

Vinson was born on March 18, 1983 in Kaufman, Texas to William and Deborah (Stone) Pierce.  Vinson was a 2001 graduate of Goldthwaite High School.  He graduated from Tarleton State University in 2006 where he received a Bachelors of Science degree in Physical Education. He received a Masters degree of Educational Administration in 2011 from Lamar University.  He was currently working on his doctoral degree in Education. He has served Comanche ISD for five years where his beloved athletes, students and colleagues affectionately call him “Coach Pierce”.

Coach Pierce married his best friend and love of his life Stacy Lee Friend on June 07, 2002 in Brownwood, Texas.  Coach Pierce’s love for Stacy and his kids and family was obvious and unconditional. He was very proud of all 3 of his children and all of their many accomplishments.

Coach Pierce touched many lives in many ways, whether through leading the pre-game chants, taking selfies or being a confidant for his students and colleagues. He was a passionate man who had a love of competition and set high expectations for all of his staff, students and athletes.

If Coach Pierce wasn’t spending time with his family or cheering on his Comanche ISD family, he was outdoors. He spent numerous hours fishing, hunting, golfing or any other way imaginable just to be outside.

Coach Pierce was loved by so many and will be deeply missed.

Coach Pierce is survived by his loving wife of almost 16 years Stacy Pierce of Comanche; sons Payton Clay Pierce and Braxton Levi Pierce and daughter Summer Nicole Pierce of Comanche; Parents William and Deborah Pierce of Comanche; sister Nancy Harbour and husband Aaron their children Kristen Harbour and Georgia Harbour of Abilene and Michelle Lopez of Comanche; brother Casey Williamson and wife Beth and their son Blaine Williamson of Eustace; mother and father in law Donald and Caren Friend of Brownwood; brother in law Kevin Crader and wife Amanda of Lockhart; and “Grammy.”
