Shirley Gwendolyn Crawford Hintner, 83, of Stephenville, died Saturday, June 9, 2018 in Stephenville.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, June 12th at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Don Parker and David Bearden officiating. Burial will follow at Blanket Cemetery in Blanket. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday at Stephenville Funeral Home.

Shirley was born in rural Coleman County, Texas to the late Marshall Neil and Amy Pricilla Morgan Crawford. She married William Bernard Hintner, Sr. on May 30, 1957 in Coleman. Shirley worked several years for Southwestern Bell as a telephone operator. She left this job to become a housewife, and raise her children. Shirley served as both a Cub Scout leader as well as a Girl Scout leader. She also cared for many of her relatives. Shirley returned to work several years later as a cook for the Stephenville ISD for the cafeteria until her retirement. She was an active member of the Graham Street Church of Christ.

Survivors include her son, Bill and wife Teresa of Chickasha, OK; a daughter, Amy Louava Lindsey of Stephenville; grandchildren, Julie and husband George Phillips, Alicia and husband Jason Baughman, and Ava and husband Matt White; great grandchildren, Ryan, Kaitlyn, and Savannah Baughman; George and Brayden Phillips, and Madalyn White; and a sister, Billie Freeman of Euless

Besides her parents, and husband, Bernard; Shirley was also preceded in death by 3 sisters, Bernice Couch, Mildred Bennett, and Nadine Faulks; and by 3 brothers, Marshall, Lester, and Vester Crawford.

The Hintner family wishes expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to CCS Hospice or to Lola’s Place residential care.
