Dublin City Council Approves Pay Raise

DUBLIN (June 12, 2018)– During the monthly Dublin City Council meeting on Monday night, the council approved to increase their salaries. The current pay for each member is around two dollars an hour and the council approved increased the pay to $50 a month for each council member.

The council also swore in Cliff Jackson for the new at large seat in Place 2.

Mayor David Leatherwood presented plaques to Fred Lisso and Layne Golden in appreciation for their outstanding service to the city of Dublin as councilmen.

Council members also approved Mayor David Leatherwood’s nomination of John Johnson as Mayor Pro-Tem for another year.

In other business, citizen Sergio Rodriquez requested to close the alley at 310 Vine. Council members voted to send the motion to the street department.

After some discussion, the council approved to appoint Susan Seider as assistant to D’Linda Sommerfeld, Public Information Officer for the Dublin Police Department, to help her on weekends to process all of the police department reports.

Local resident Charlie Bradberry requested to lease the land at Dublin Municipal Airport and build new hangars. Council members voted to send the motion to the airport committee.
