STEPHENVILLE – Tarleton’s Jordan Withrow was named to the Honorable Mention All-America team by FastpitchNews.com, marking the first time in program history that two TexAnns have earned All-American honors in the same season. Withrow joins Georgia Capell, who was named to the NFCA All-America third team last month.

“I’m very proud of Jordan and she is very deserving of this recognition,” said head coach Mark Cumpian. “She stepped up and filled a huge role for us this year in the circle and proved that she is one of the best young pitchers in the nation. I’m excited to see what the future holds for her as she continues to work hard.”

Withrow, a sophomore right-handed pitcher from Trenton, enjoyed a banner sophomore season after stepping into the team’s top starting spot.

This year, she was named the Lone Star Conference Co-Pitcher of the Year and Academic Player of the Year, in addition to all-conference first team honors, NFCA All-Region Second Team, and D2CCA All-Region First Team honors. The sophomore right-hander went 26-6 in the circle with a 2.34 ERA and led the Lone Star Conference with 252 strikeouts, which also makes her the first player in school history to strike out over 200 in a season. Her 26 wins is also a Tarleton single-season record.
