Thomas G. Sherick, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at his home in Comanche County, Texas.

He was born in Hancock County, Ohio, on June 27, 1931, to David and Lucy (La Roche) Sherick.  On November 18, 1951, he married Phyllis Roberts.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather to eleven grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.

Tom served his county in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and saw active duty on Okinawa.  He was a Boy Scout leader for fifteen years, active in Findlay, Ohio.  He owned his own trucking business and later opened a new garage door business in Houston, Texas.  After retiring in 1992, he and Phyllis traveled the North American Continent for twelve years while living in their RV.  He became an avid fly fisherman and he was a good hunter.  Tom and Phyllis finally settled down on their small ranch in Comanche County.

He is survived by his wife Phyllis Sherick of Comanche; two sons, Michael D. Sherick and wife Diana of Fort Worth and Daniel J. Sherick and wife Nancee of Katy; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Virginia Bibler and husband David of Fremont, Ohio, and Mary Jane Crawford of Findlay, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas E. Sherick;  parents, David and Lucy Sherick; and brothers, Dave Sherick, Dick Sherick, Don Sherick and Bob Sherick.
