Swing into summer at Tarleton’s annual Backyard Summer Mix

STEPHENVILLE (June 29, 2018) — Texas singer and songwriter Courtney Patton will take the stage at Tarleton State University Alumni Association’s fourth annual Backyard Summer Mix.

The free, family-friendly get-together kicks off at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 12, at the Alumni House located at 343 N. Mcllhaney St. in Stephenville. The Tarleton Alumni Association will provide free food, beverages and games, and portable coolers will help attendees beat the heat.

“The Summer Mix is a laid-back, fun way to touch base and reach out to our local alumni and the Stephenville community,” said Jessica Evans, director of alumni engagement. “We can’t wait to see everyone in what we like to call the ‘university’s backyard.’”

Patton, who is a Tarleton alumnus, is a country and folk musician from Granbury. She has shared the stage with leading artists in the country-folk scene, including Walt Wilkins, Bruce Robinson, Jamie Lin Wilson, Cody Jinks, Sunny Sweeney, Brennen Leigh and Drew Kennedy.
