Doris Laverne Prim

(October 19, 1943 – August 16, 2018)

Visitation will be at Harrell Memorial Chapel, on Mon Aug. 20, 2018 from 6-8pm and a graveside service will be held at the First Baptist of Dublin On Tues. Aug. 21, 2018 at 10am and a 2pm graveside at Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery.

Doris Laverne (Kidwell) Prim, 74, of Dublin, TX, returned to her Heavenly home on August 16, 2018. Doris was born to Richard Henry Kidwell and Katy Lillian Hewell on Oct. 19, 1943 in Denison, TX. She was married to Ronald Michael Prim on Jan. 9, 1985. Mr. Prim was laid to rest on Dec. 28. 2012. Doris was greatly devoted to her family and her faith.

Doris was a nurse and started her career at 19. she spent a majority of her profession as a surgical nurse. During her career, she became one of the “100 Great Nurses of Texas” and retired from Texas Health.

Doris dedicated her life in helping and guiding people in need. She accomplished many feats in her time including being a part of the Salvation Army and assisted newly released prisoners get their lives back on track. Her life took her on a journey to Taiwan in which she taught and brought supplies to orphans. She adopted two children from Taiwan. In her retirement years, she became a member of the First Baptist Church in Dublin. She became a community leader, and through God, served many. Doris opened the doors of her house as Angie’s Home and aided women in need for a couple of years. With the support and assistance of the church, she helped found Kingdom Serve. She would also take supplies to Central Texas Hospitality House in Gatesville. Doris got a kick out of being called the “Mother Teresa of Dublin”. She will be greatly missed and loved.

Doris is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald and her parents.
