Tarleton falls to No. 24 in latest AVCA National Poll

STEPHENVILLE – Tarleton fell six spots after going 3-1 at the Dixie State Invitational in St. George, Utah and is at No. 24 in the latest national poll from the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

This is the third week of national voting and Tarleton was No. 18 in each of the first two polls. Tarleton is one of two Lone Star Conference schools in the top 25 after Texas A&M-Commerce jumped from outside the poll up to No. 17. Tarleton has been ranked in every poll since the final ranking of the 2016 season, which is 18 consecutive weeks in the national spotlight.

Tarleton went 3-1 last weekend, earning victories over regional rivals UC-Colorado Springs, Adams State, and Arkansas-Fort Smith. Tarleton fell in the first match of the tournament to tournament host Dixie State.

Tarleton will be back in Wisdom Gym this weekend to begin Lone Star Conference play against Texas Woman’s Friday night at 6 p.m. Tarleton will take on Texas A&M-Commerce in a showdown of nationally-ranked opponents Saturday at 2 p.m.
