Amos Ray Cox, age 92, passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, in Fort Worth, Texas.

He was born on October 19, 1925, in Durant, Oklahoma, to Oliver Wilson Cox and Clara Bell (Teague) Cox.  Amos was a World War II veteran, serving as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps.  On May 21, 1960, he was united in marriage to Lorene Inez Thomas in Fort Worth.  She preceded him in death on September 1, 2002.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.  He worked hard and was a self-employed welder.  Amos lived in Comanche for sixteen years before moving to Fort Worth in 1999.  He loved people and enjoyed conversing with anyone he met.  He was a Baptist.

He is survived by his stepson-in-law, Martin Romanoski of Gun Barrel City; sons, Amos Ray Laviolette of Fort Worth and Gary Curtis Cox of Washington; and several grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by and one daughter, Janetta Mae Romanoski, and one son, Stephen Grant Cox
