Clinton Smith, 89, of Stephenville, passed away Thursday, October 4, 2018 in Stephenville.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 M on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Stephenville Funeral Home with Alan Nix officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Dale Cemetery. The family will host a visitation from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Saturday, October 6, at Stephenville Funeral Home.
Clinton was born November 5, 1928 in Erath County to the late Cecil and Lizzie Henderson Smith. He served his country in both the United States Navy and, as an Airman 1st Class, in the United States Air Force. Clinton married McKee Jane Taylor in Stephenville on September 26, 1949 and together they raised two daughters. McKee preceded him in death on September 8, 2004. Clinton was a CPA and worked as an associate professor at Tarleton Stated University for thirty years. He enjoyed rebuilding and selling old Ford automobiles and tractors. Clinton was a member of Graham Street Church of Christ and a lifelong resident of Stephenville.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Anita K. Christie and husband Randy, and Linda Sue Stewart and husband Charles May; and great grandchildren, Brandon and Conner Stewart and Megan Miller all of Stephenville.
Clinton was preceded in death by his parents and wife, grandson, Clinton Stewart; and by four sisters, Delia Bennett, Irene Huffman, Avo Brown, and Ora Lee Smith.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorial donations be made to the Sherwood and Myrtie Foster Home for Children in Stephenville.
