STEPHENVILLE (October 17, 2018) — A linchpin of Tarleton State University’s Homecoming, the annual L.V. Risinger Memorial Bonfire, takes place at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at the Agricultural Center just off FM 8.

This year, due to increasing popularity of the event, some new twists make Bonfire more accessible, safer and convenient to attend.

To help offset limited parking at the event site, students, alumni, faculty, staff and friends are encouraged to park on the Stephenville campus and take a free shuttle to the College Farm. All campus parking zones will be open, with the exception of 24-hour reserved spaces.

Important details for riding shuttles:
• Shuttles will depart from the front of the Campus Recreation Center on Rome Street.

• Departures to the College Farm begin at 5:30 p.m. and continue throughout the evening, with the latest return to campus at 11 p.m.

• NO bags or backpacks allowed.

Special parking passes for those with physical disabilities are available at the Tarleton State University Police Department on the corner of Frey and Harbin streets. The pass allows parking at the Agricultural Center for Bonfire.

Keeping in mind a wet forecast and muddy conditions at the college farm, rain gear, boots and warm clothes are highly recommended.

To help make this year’s Bonfire experience even better, food trucks will be on site and the first 1,000 students on shuttles get a free T-shirt.

To get to the Agriculture Center from the Stephenville campus, head northeast on Washington Street for .21 miles and take a left onto North Ollie Avenue for .93 miles. Turn right onto West Lingleville Road (FM 8) for 1.24 miles and turn left onto County Road 518. The Agriculture Center is .21 miles.
