TexAnns ranked No. 12 in latest AVCA national poll

STEPHENVILLE – Tarleton Volleyball will head into the Lone Star Conference tournament ranked No. 12 in the nation after the latest poll from the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

It’s the 12th week of national voting and Tarleton has been ranked in the poll every week this season. It’s the fifth straight week the TexAnns have been ranked in the top 15.

Tarleton is one of two Lone Star Conference schools in the top 25, joining Texas A&M-Commerce who remains No. 22 in the poll. Tarleton has been ranked in every poll since the final ranking of the 2016 season, which is 27 consecutive weeks in the national spotlight.

Tarleton went 1-1 last week to close out the regular season with a win over Western New Mexico before falling to UT Permian Basin in five sets on the road. Tarleton secured the Lone Star Conference championship for the second straight season and third time in four years with a 19-1 league record. Tarleton finished the regular season 27-3, which is tied for the second most wins in program history, matching the 2015 and 2016 records. Last year’s team won 29 games.

Tarleton is hosting the Lone Star Conference Championship in the Wisdom Volleyball Gym from Nov. 8-10. The TexAnns, the No. 1 seed, will open with the No. 8 seed Eastern New Mexico on Thursday, Nov. 8 at 7:30 p.m. For the complete LSC Tournament schedule, visit TarletonSports.com.
