After two warm-up exhibitions last week, the Tarleton Women’s Basketball team will officially begin their 51st season of competition at home for the Tip-Off Classic in Wisdom Gym. The TexAnns, who enter the fifth season under the leadership of Tarleton Hall of Famer Misty Wilson, will begin the season Friday at 5 p.m. against Rogers State before welcoming region rival St. Mary’s to town Saturday night.
There is a full slate of basketball promotions this weekend. On Friday, Tarleton Basketball will recognize the university’s registered student organizations as well as giving away free basketball posters while supplies last. There will also be a dash-for-cash at halftime, allowing select fans to win free money. Saturday is Military Appreciation and all members of the military and immediate families will receive free admission. It will also be Tarleton’s first ‘Texan Two-Step’, which allows anyone who purchases a football ticket to receive free admission into the basketball game.
