STEPHENVILLE (November 18, 2018) – The Stephenville Parks and Recreation are hosting their second annual Breakfast with Santa event on Saturday, Dec. 1 from 8 to 11 a.m.

What’s different about this year’s event though, is that the children not only get a chance to have breakfast with Santa, but they get the chance to have breakfast with The Grinch as well.

“This year, we’re doing a theme. We’re doing The Grinch, so we’ll have a person walking around, dressed up as The Grinch,” said Ashley Snyder, recreation coordinator at the Parks and Rec.

There are several fun activities for the children to do at the event as well. There will be pancakes, a chance for the kids to get their picture with Santa, Christmas crafts, a hot chocolate bar and the opportunity to watch The Grinch movie on the “big blow-up screen.”

Pre-Registration is $10 but registration is also available the day of the event for $15.

Space is limited to 150 children. If the waitlist gets large enough, the Parks and Rec will open up additional time slots.

Last year, between 20-25 kids showed up for the event. For this year, Snyder hopes that more kids will sign up for the event. She said that 23 kids have already signed up.

Parents do not need to register, only the children.

Snyder said the staff at Parks and Rec came up with the idea for Breakfast with Santa collectively.

“We wanted more activities for kids to do around the holidays when they’re not in school,” she said.

To sign your child up for Breakfast with Santa, you can either sign up online by searching for the “Breakfast with Santa” Facebook event and clicking on the link for tickets, come into the Parks and Rec office or sign up the day of the event.
