The Tarleton State University Texan basketball team hits the court after a break for finals and will face the Arlington Baptist Patriots at Wisdom Gym tomorrow night in a 7 p.m. tipoff.
The 6-2 Texans are 1-1 in the Lone Star conference and have averaged 79 points per game while holding other teams to 73.5 points.
Three Texans are in double figures with Corinthian Ramsey leading the team with 16 points per game. Josh Hawley is right on his tail with an average of 14.9 while Randall Brody has averaged 10.5 points per game.
When it comes to rebounding Hawley leads the team with 10.9 rebounds per contest and has five double-doubles in eight games. As a team, the Texans are shooting 49% from the floor and averaging 39% on three-pointers.
Arlington Baptist is on a two-game winning streak after starting the season 0-8. The Patriots are struggling defensively and allowing 81.4 points per game. Kennedy Jones leads the Patriot scoring with 13.6 points and 7.4 rebounds while Jashun Petite has put up 10.1 points per game.
Wednesday’s game will be the ninth meeting between the two teams, and Tarleton has never lost since they started playing in 2010.
The Stephenville Stingers will be the special halftime guest and will perform a routine for fans in attendance. Tomorrow’s game is a “Take a Kid to the Game” night with any child in kindergarten through eighth grade get free admission with a paid adult admission. The limit is one child per adult paid ticket.
The Texans will travel to Las Vegas for the Holiday Hoops Classic. Tarleton will play Le Moyne on Tuesday, Dec. 18 and Rollins on Wednesday, Dec. 19
