TexAnns close out 2018 calendar year with home exhibition against ETBU

THE GAME
Tarleton will return from a nine-day layoff to host East Texas Baptist in an exhibition game Saturday at 2 p.m. Tarleton enters the game with a record of 8-2 while the Tigers, who compete in NCAA Division III, enter the game with a record of 10-1.

There will be bounce houses in Wisdom Gym for young fans to enjoy.

TICKET INFORMATION
The Tarleton State Ticket Office is open from 1:30-4 p.m. in the main lobby of Wisdom Gym and can be reached by telephone at 254-968-1832. Cash, check, and cards are all accepted. Tarleton’s Stephenville Campus Students receive free admission to all home games with valid Stephenville Campus Student ID. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for non-Stephenville Campus Tarleton students. Children two years old and younger receive free admission.

THE LAST TIME OUT
With four starters scoring in double figures, Tarleton women’s basketball picked up a midweek in-region 81-69 win over Arkansas-Fort Smith on Wednesday afternoon in Wisdom Gym. Tarleton (8-2) shot 49 percent from the floor and forced the Lions into 19 turnovers, which led to 20 points off turnovers and 34 fast break points. Mackenzie Hailey led the TexAnns with 19 points and a game-high nine rebounds while Kaylee Allen had 18 points and four rebounds.

LONE STAR CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
McKinley Bostad was named the Lone Star Conference Women’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week after a career week for Tarleton in a pair of crucial victories over Heartland Conference, in-region rivals last week. Bostad joins Kaylee Allen as the two TexAnns who have won the weekly honors for Tarleton this season.

INSIDE THE SERIES
Tarleton and East Texas Baptist have four official games on record with the TexAnns winning three. Tarleton and ETBU met for the first time in 1980 and Tarleton won 68-56. After ETBU won its only game of the series in 1990, Tarleton won the last two meetings in 1993 and 2002. Exhibition games do not count as official contests.
