Broddie finished with a game-high 21 points – including 15 points in the second half and overtime in his first postseason game as a Texan.

The Texans (21-9) had to erase a 12-point second-half deficit with 10:20 left in the game. That’s when Broddie and senior Jesse Hill took over for the Texan offense. Broddie and Hill combined to score the next 10 points to get back in the game. Hill finished the game with 17 points, nine rebounds, four blocks and two steals in 34 minutes of play.

Clashon Gaffney, who had 12 points, six rebounds and four blocks off the bench, made it a two-point game with 4:40 on the clock with a put back jumper. Gaffney, the reigning LSC Defensive Player of the Week, scored seven of his 12 points in the second half and overtime

Free throws by Hill and Broddie tied the score at 71-71 with 1:58 left. The Greyhounds converted on a 3-pointer with a minute on the clock to set the scene for Broddie’s first set of heroics. The junior guard drilled a 3-pointer from the left wing to tie the score, one of his two 3-pointers for the game. Broddie would make a pair of free throws with 12 seconds left in regulation to tie the game and send it to overtime.

In overtime, the Texans used a 7-0 run with points from Gaffney, Hill and Brandon Goldsmith to lead 85-82. The Greyhounds tied the game on a 3-pointer from Zach Parker with 10 seconds left, which gave Broddie plenty of time to create his own shot for the game winner.

Goldsmith was one of five Texans to score in double figures, posting 12 points and a career-high eight rebounds. Josh Hawley added 12 points, five rebounds and three blocks.

Isaiah Boling came off the bench to score eight points and dish out a game-high six assists. Richie Mitchell had three points, while Sam Marshall and Dexter Johnson each had two points.
