Harold Burton Fox, 78, of Stephenville, Texas, passed away at his home, on March 27, 2019, after a long and valiant battle with cancer. Harold is survived by his loving wife and favorite dance partner, Sharon Fox, of Stephenville, TX, as well as twin daughters, Anna Fox of Conroe, Texas; and Jana Kruger and husband Kraig of Boulder, Colorado. He is preceded in death by his son, Barry Fox, of Dublin, Texas. Harold is also survived by ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, many cousins and dear friends who will miss him tremendously.
Harold was born November 4, 1940 in San Juan, Texas as the only child to Carmen and Milton (Son) Fox. Harold was always described by his mother as a spritely and energetic child. His bright blue eyes served him well as he was voted Most Handsome in his High School yearbook. He was also rated All-State in Football at Dublin High School where he graduated in 1959.
In his life Harold worked many fascinating jobs. He was an incredibly talented automobile mechanic, having proudly worked as a sales representative for Volkswagen early in his career. Although he spent a lot of time with motors, Harold’s most notable profession would his time in the restaurant business. Harold began his culinary endeavor in the 1970’s with Will’s in Mingus, and followed up with local family spots Harold’s Place, and then later, The Dinner Bell. Food was his love language. Harold enjoyed many hobbies like restoring old tractors and peddling his special knack for snagging a bargain at an auction and then proudly displaying his finds for sale at his local flea market booth. Harold was also often seen around both Dublin and Stephenville drinking coffee with friends and engaging in lively conversation about politics, faith, and life in general. He was never one to hurry, and always had time for another cup. The dance floor was another popular location to spot Harold. He was light on his feet, had an appreciation for classic country music, and taught many people to two-step. Harold was dearly loved his family, friends, and his little pup, Scooby.
Visitation will be Friday, March 29th, 6-8 p.m., at Harrell Funeral Home. Funeral services will commence the following day, at 2 p.m., in Harrell Memorial Chapel and burial in the Pecan Cemetery
