Khaw, Leatherman honored at LSC Golf awards banquet

Junie Khaw and Casey Leatherman were honored for their season performances by the Lone Star Conference at the annual awards banquet in Abilene.

Khaw was named first-team All-LSC after leading Tarleton with a 79.6 scoring average in 14 rounds this season. The sophomore from Malaysia has five top-20 finishes, four top-10 finishes and won two tournaments, the Tarleton Invitational and the Oklahoma Intercollegiate. Khaw was a two-time Lone Star Conference Golfer of the Week winner this season to lead the TexAnns. It’s the second career all-conference award for Khaw, who was named second team last season as a freshman.

Leatherman was named honorable mention All-LSC and was second on the team with a 77.1 scoring average in 16 rounds. The junior from Huntsville has five top-20 finishes and two top-10 finishes. Leatherman had a season-best third-place finish at the Oklahoma Intercollegiate where she shot a 148 (+6). Leatherman earned her first career LSC Golfer of the Week on Feb. 21 this year. It’s the second career all-conference award for Leatherman, who was named second team last season.

Tarleton, last year’s LSC title winner, will compete in the Lone Star Conference Championship tournament looking to win their LSC record 12th title on April 22-23 at the Diamondback Golf Club in Abilene.
