COMMERCE – No. 19 Tarleton will have to compete through the elimination bracket after suffering a 2-0 loss on a walk-off home run to No. 8 Texas A&M-Commerce in the NCAA Division II Regional Semifinals.

The TexAnns will face the winner of Cameron and Dixie State this afternoon at 5 p.m. at the Cain Family Softball Field in a win-or-go-home situation.

Both teams managed only two hits in the pitchers’ duel between two all-region pitchers in Jordan Withrow and Emily Otto.

Withrow (22-5) allowed only two runs and struck out four in 6.2 innings of work. However, Withrow had seven walks but was able to get out of several jams that left nine runners on base for the Lions. Otto (28-6) threw all seven innings with six strikeouts and one walk for TAMUC.

Amanda Conner and Lexi Grimaldo had the two hits for the TexAnn offense, both hits being singles.
