Services for Mathias Strobl, 104, who died on Thursday, May 30, 2019, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 8, 2019, at Lacy Funeral Home with Father Matthew Sanka officiating. Burial will follow at Smith Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 – 2 p.m. Saturday, June 8, 2019 prior to the service. Arrangements are by Lacy Funeral Home.

Mathias was born in Owatonna, Minnesota on October 11, 1914 to Mathias and Roselia (Pallianitsch) Strobl, Sr.  He married Marie Allison on March 21, 1946, in Temple, Texas. She preceded him in death on April 28, 2007. Mathias grew up on a farm in Minnesota, was a child of the depression and survived WWII before returning to his roots as a dairy farmer. He was also a dairy plant manager. He was a hard working man with a gift for raising animals and a strong compassion for other people. He was a member of St. Brendan’s Catholic Church in Stephenville and Holy Family Catholic Church in Lawton as well as a member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include two children Margaret Plunkett & husband Karlos Plunkett of Cache, Oklahoma; and Catherine Romaniello and husband Chuck Romaniello of Montrose, Colorado. Grandchildren Mathias Weger & wife Gail Weger of Point Richmond, California, Ray Stephen Weger & wife Janice Weger Allen, Texas, Benjiman Weger & wife LoAn Weger of Edmond, Oklahoma, Chelsea Romaniello of Denver, Colorado, Lindsey Jarvey & husband Tim Jarvey of Tucson, Arizona. Three Great Grandchildren Lincoln Weger, Leslie Weger, and Logan Weger. Mathias Strobl is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews who were an important part of his life.

Mathias was preceded in death by two brothers Walter Strobl, and John Strobl.
