STEPHENVILLE (November 17, 2014) — Leadership positions ranging from an elementary principal position to a vacancy on the school board highlight the agenda for Stephenville ISD trustees’ November meeting, set for 5:30 p.m. Monday in Bond Auditorium.
Trustees will first consider filling the board seat and vice president’s position vacated by Doug McLemore. A replacement would serve a brief term expiring with the May, 2015 election.
The Chamberlin Elementary principal position is listed as part of a closed session in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act. Trustees likely will consider a finalist for the opening, and any vote on the matter will follow when open session resumes.
Accomplished students will be recognized by the board, including all-state jazz ensemble, area marching band members and area champion Honeybee volleyball players. McLemeore will also be recognized, on his birthday no less, for his six-plus years of service on the board.
Trustees will review the typical assortment of reports from assistant superintendents Dr. Kathy Ray and Debbie Hummel, as well as the monthly superintendent’s report from Matt Underwood. He will share a legislative update, student performance data report and board training outcomes.
Underwood’s report will also include swim team information. Board members requested further information concerning facilities and more after a group of district parents proposed at last month’s meeting they adopt swimming as a UIL sport at the high school.
