WEATHERFORD — Colt Bruce, 23, passed away Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014, in Weatherford.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Monday at Central Christian Church, 1602 S. Main St., Weatherford. Interment: Memory Gardens of the Valley. Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorials: In lieu of usual remembrances, the Bruce family suggests consideration of contributions in Colt’s memory to Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund, 101 Pro Rodeo Drive, Colorado Springs, Colo. 80919 or jccfinfo@prorodeo.com.
Colt James Bruce was born Nov. 21, 1991, in North Richland Hills, son of Dannie and Carrie Bruce. He graduated with the class of 2010 from Aledo High School and attended Tarleton State University, where he was on the rodeo team. Colt was a bare-back rider in the PRCA, UPRA, and CPRA. He had a great love of the outdoors and among his hobbies were wakeboarding, snowboarding, hunting, and fishing. Colt never had a bad day in his life and everyone wanted to be his best friend. He was a very giving young man and continued to give the gift of life even after his death.
Colt was a member of the Cowboy Church of Stephenville.
Colt was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents and great-grandparents; and his paternal great-grandparents.
Survivors: Parents, Dannie and Carrie Bruce of Weatherford; brother, Cody Bruce of Galveston; sisters, Dr. Keelie Bruce of Orlando, Fla., and Kelsie Bruce of Stephenville; grandparents, Dannie and Nelda Bruce of Weatherford; uncles, James O’Mary and wife, Vangie, Craig O’Mary and wife, Leah, and Billy and Norma Bruce; many cousins and friends; and his faithful teacup poodle, Karlie.
