(December 16, 2014) — Karli Moore scored a career high 16 points and Tarleton State dominated the backboards in a 79-59 win over Concord on the second day of the Rollins Invitational in Winter Park, Florida Tuesday.
Moore was one of five double-digit scorers for the TexAnns in a game that was never in doubt. Meagan O’Dell scored 12, Raven McGrath 11, Ikpeaku Iwobi 10 and Kathy Thomas 10. Thomas affected and Iwobi each collected eight boards while Thomas and McGrath each distributed four assists. Morgan Ashmore didn’t score, but dealt eight dimes.

The TexAnns out-rebounded Concord 48-33 and actually led by 28 before an 8-0 garbage-time run by Concord. Tarleton had 36 points in the paint to 14 and 20 points off the bench to nine. The TexAnns had 23 assists to Concord’s nine.
Rollins was led by Rachel Artrip with 16 points and Jacqueline Kestner with 14. The Mountain Lions’ only advantage was at the free throw line, thanks to the sheer differential in attempts. Concord was 20-31 from the stripe, while Tarleton was 9-11.
The TexAnns managed a split in the event, having dropped the tourney opener to Indianapolis Monday, 57-51. It was their final game of the calendar year. After the holiday break they host Texas Woman’s in a Lone Star Conference opener on January 3.
