Duff “Karo” McDonel

Duff “Karo” McDonel was born January 21, 1923 in Dallas, Texas to parents Duff and Sinnia (Brown) McDonel. Duff passed away December 17, 2014 in Glen Rose, Texas. Duff, known by many as “Karo”, graduated from Iredell High School, was a veteran of WWII, retired from LTV, was a member of Scottish Rite and was a Shriner, past Master of Iredell Lodge 405, a member of the Eastern Star, he was an avid sports fan and enjoyed working at the gates of the annual Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. Duff was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Naomi McDonel, step-son Eddie Langford, brothers Wallace and T.L. McDonel and by his sister Myrtle Harris. Duff is survived by grandsons Tony Langford, Jon Langford and wife Pam, granddaughter Janet Carson and husband Don; 6 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren; sister Jewel Fouts and husband B.J.; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Service Details

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Dec. 19 at the Harvest Hills Funeral Home in Hico. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 20 at the First Baptist Church in Iredell, with burial to follow at Mitchell Cemetery in Iredell.
