Tarleton State University offices to close Dec. 24 to Jan. 4

STEPHENVILLE — Tarleton State University will close all campuses and facilities during the holidays, beginning at noon on Tuesday, Dec. 23. The campuses and other operations will re-open for business on Monday, Jan. 5, 2015.

Spring semester 16-week classes begin Monday, Jan. 12, and all residence halls re-open to students at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 11.

Campus dining services have been suspended until 11 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 11 when the dining hall re-opens for on-campus residents upon move-in. All dining locations, including the Barry B. Thompson Student Center food court, will resume normal operating hours on Jan. 12.

The Dick Smith Library will operate on modified hours the first full week in January, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closed Saturday and Sunday. For a complete schedule of library hours visit www.tarleton.edu/library/hours.

Tarleton’s Recreational Sports Center will re-open at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 3 and will operate on a modified schedule until Jan. 12 when normal hours resume. To view the Rec Sports calendar for hours during the break, please visitwww.tarleton.edu/recsports/hoursofoperation.

Several athletic events will be held during the winter break, including home basketball games for the No. 5 Tarleton Texans and TexAnns. The Texans will host South Dakota Mines on Dec. 30 and York College (Neb.) on Jan. 2. Tip-off for both games is scheduled at 7 p.m. inside Wisdom Gym. The men’s and women’s teams will host Texas A&M-Kingsville on Saturday, Jan. 10 with the TexAnns tipping off at 5 p.m., followed by the Texans at 7 p.m.
