Residents of Erath County and the area met in Stephenville’s Jaycee-Optimist Park Friday evening for a candlelight vigil in remembrance of Bart VanKranenburg, a Lingleville high school 11th grade student who passed away last Sunday morning, December 21.
VanKranenburg, 16, played football and basketball at Lingleville, and as depicted in the photos below, touched the lives of many. The vigil followed visitation at Lacey Funeral Home, which is overseeing the funeral set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Cottonwood Church, just east of Dublin on State Highway 6.
Many attending the visitation contributed written memories of VanKranenburg that will comprise a scrapbook for the family.
