Lela Rae Fitzgerald, born September 28, 1913 in Talpa, Texas to parents George and Lillie (Maughan) Rae, passed away in Hico on February 11, 2015 at the age of 101. Lela spent her life doing for others, enjoyed her family, church, gardening and sewing and quilting. Lela was a military wife, a saddle maker and seamstress. Lela was preceded in death by her parents, husbands; Delbert Hardin and Roger Fitzgerald, daughter, Nell Ray, grandson, Brian Nelson, granddaughter Debbie Byrd and great grandson, Jeremy Hebdon. Lela is survived by daughters; Grace Martinez and husband Sam, Lela Wade and husband Neil, 17 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren. Lela is also survived by one sister, Valta Korzekwa.
