(February 12, 2015) — San Saba police have identified the victim and suspect from a Wednesday night slaying in the small town, according to a report by KWTX-TV in Waco on its website, www.kwtx.com.

The victim, Maria Ramirez, was found about 9:40 p.m. Wednesday night on S. Water Street in San Saba. She suffered severe head trauma and was soon pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers are searching for her boyfriend, Bernardo Ramirez, 27, according to the report. San Saba police Chief Dewayne Shaw told KWTX an arrest warrant has been issued charging him with murder.

The suspect, a Hispanic male, stands 5-6, weighing about 150 pounds, and was lsat seen wearing a brown shirt and black pants with his hair in a mohawk.

The Texas Rangers, Lampasas County Sheriff’s Office, San Saba Sheriff’s Office, game wardens and Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers are all searching for Bernardo Ramirez, the report states. Search dogs from Gatesville prison units have even brought in for assistance.
