(February 21, 2015) — Stephenville scored the final three goals to overcome an early deficit and defeat Brownwood 4-2 in District 4-4A girls soccer at Gordon Wood Stadium in Brownwood Friday.

Forward Bayleigh Chaviers scored a goal and delivered two assists, while fellow striker Skylar Chipman had a goal and an assist. Savannah Alford and Mikayla Hobbs also scored a goal each for Stephenville.

Alford scored first for the Bees, who found themselves trailing 2-1 at halftime. Hobbs tied it, and Chaviers put Stephenville ahead for good when she hammered in a rebound from a Chipman shot that ricocheted. Chipman’s goal completed the scoring.

Stephenville will be shorthanded at Abilene Wylie on Tuesday because Chaviers, Chipman, Hobbs and Lyndi Graham will be playing in the regional quarterfinals in girls basketball. The Bees are also without injured junior Codi Beyer, who has missed four games.
