Mote, a four-time world champ, is currently seventh in the Pro Rodeo Cowboys Association, but the Houston Rodeo is not a PRCA event.

Several of Mote’s Twitter followers say they were brought to tears by the cowboy’s performance after he announced he was riding in honor of a young cancer patient he met in a Houston hospital.
