EVANSVILLE, Ind. (March 25, 2015) — The 876.5 miles from Stephenville, Texas flew by with The Flash Today publisher Jessie Horton and sports editor Brad Keith anticipating the Division II Elite Eight at the end of the journey.

It’s a journey that is ongoing with Tarleton State having won its national quarterfinal contest over Mount Olive (NC) Wednesday, 77-59.

Take a look at the journey that’s been, and check back as we continue to update with scenes around Evansville, a southern Indiana city that takes immense pride in its history, both on the hardwood and off.

It’s the Cross Timbers Orthopaedics Road to Evansville, and it’s driven the only way The Flash Today knows how – by Bruner Motors.

Above: The Flash left from Three Way between Stephenville and Glen Rose, traveling 876.5 miles Tuesday in Brad Keith’s 2012 Chevrolet Sonic, purchased new 3 years ago at Bruner Motors. With more than 75,000 miles and following its first Bruner Service Center tune-up, the “Silver Bullet” as we’ve named the Sonic, averaged 35.6 miles per gallon from Texas to Indiana, even hitting 36.0 mpg just east of Dallas, as shown above. Other photos from above are from Cedar Hill, the Red River on the Arkansas side of the Texas state line, from Arkadelphia, Ark. and of the First Pentecostal Church in Little Rock, Ark.

The bridge over the Mississippi River taking The Flash from Missouri into Tennessee made for a beautiful sunset photo, and a brief while later we were in Newbern, Tenn. Once across Kentucky into southern Indiana, The Flash caught a good night’s rest, loaded the equipment bags and arrived at the Ford Center – which could only be reached in our Bruner Motors Chevrolet – just in time to see the Tarleton State Texans unloading the bus before their national quarterfinal game. Three hours later, the Texans were smiling and holding up the No. 1 as the TSU Foul Play basketball spirit band played the school song for the world to hear from the Division II Elite Eight.

More collages coming as our journey continues to progress in the Cross Timbers Orthopaedics Road to Evansville, driven by Bruner Motors!
